The ezop is still the founding account. And it's the founding accounts that were notified by email. All other admins would have seen the on board announcement only, and not have been contacted individually.

Our ezOp didn't get a notice, and we didn't have a banner. That was why the move surprised us. Another board whose membership overlaps with ours moved to yuku (or was moved) a bit earlier, and some of us saw their banner. We thought...

Reph, the owner of the board as far as our terms of use and your responsibility and powers go, is the person who created the board. That person has ezop beside his name in the member list. That person cannot be demoted or revoked powers. They cannot be banned from their board. ezop is our terminology. Regardless of your terminology, Ezboard owners were called EzOps, Ezboard admins were called Administrators.

Ezboard: EzOp- the person who 'owned' whether the one who created it or the one who the ownership was transfered to
Yuku: Owner- for a migrated board, the person who was EzOp, not administrator.
Ezboard: Administrator- person given rights to modify board and manage members
Yuku: Administrator-person given rights...

Reph, as far as ezboard is concerned the ezop IS the owner of the board. The ezop is the person who creates the board, and agrees to the terms of use. That is the person responsible for the board. Any other administrator is just an administrator. Only one perosn is identified in the memberlist as the ezop.

If you have an admin who needs to promote admins, then the owner (ezop) can simply give him that power on his edit page.

Trust me... no one looks like an idiot at Skins and CSS.... after the questions I've had to ask there... that board has a 'there's no such thing as a stupid question' rule I believe. They are very understanding of those that are still learning about CSS since everyone had to start somewhere, no one is born with the knowledge.

Now we're trying to figure out whether it's possible to keep it as an option for OOC, or whether it can only be used for all forums. If it's the latter, the members will want to get rid of it.

Interesting. How do you know this? Did they identify themselves? Most Wikipedia contributors don't sign with their real names.

The majority of cases of where security appeared to be breached turned out to be a case of misunderstanding what the admin was seeing in the new access forums, or they broke their security by making changes that they didn't...

Steaming, you have my sympathy, not that it'll help you sleep better. My board was involuntarily migrated three weeks ago with no warning. I had to buy a new computer to be able to admin adequately, as yuku doesn't accommodate old browsers. It was delivered today. I've figured out how to use one percent of it.

Shiny - I felt your pain. We were baffled and the CSS still is hard on me, but Cedar will fix you up. It took me about 3 weeks to feel comfortable with the YUKU admin interface. Hang in there

I have that at our imported board. I forget to switch profiles from my cedar profile to my board profile... so I added that little script so that all of my posts appear as Mouse.

When you're at your board, click on 'admin', then on 'Yuku script library' in the design box. In the tags box click on 'replace' and then select the name replacer script. It's got the instructions on how to use it right there.

Those multiple accounts are absolutely wonderful... except if you're like me and forget to log out and half the Lobby is littered with posts that have "Edited because Bril forgot to switch IDs again" *remembers to switch the name in the drop down back to Bril since she's not on Bril at the moment*

Some of the scripts are handy too for when you can't get the user name you want. There's one that allows you to change the way a username appears, just a little...

The multiple profiles for an account is a definite plus with yuku. If you want to take a look at some of the profiles that are customized for rp'ing I can pm you some links to look at. It's actually asked of all my members who play that the profile is set up for the character, just like Bril said. We find lots of ways to take what yuku offers and make it our own.

Weighing in from another RP board here...

I know a lot of the things, kudos, ect seem a bit anti-rp. But as Alison said, they can be turned off.
I have found that Yuku is great for the role playing environment. The flexablity is wonderful, and honestly... those profiles that seem so myspace (my first thought when I saw them) can be very handy. If you're board is like all the rest of ours (we're all alike in this area...
