my board, this board, my profile...all timing out. stop and refresh doesn't cut it anymore. have to let it time out then hit the "try again" to
get anywhere. so...2-3 minutes to open and post.

I've been holding back on responding to these reports because of general Internet difficulties. These have cleared and now I can be more certain. This can
be random but consistent when there are difficulties.

We have pings disabled, so once you hit our ISP that's it. But please do keep reporting anything you see, as I want the developers to have a full picture
on the intermittent scale of this problem.
I am wondering if the white pages and timing out are related, however I am going to keep them separate for now. |

Please give as much detail as you can - including the board url, the exact problems that are happening, and the time frame in which they are occurring.

It is on and off. My board is HERE. Pages take forever to load. You try to post
and hit "post" button and it takes 5 minutes to post if it even posts. Then you come back later and it works fine. There is no pattern. Right
now I am logged in using Netscape but the exact same thing happens when I am logged in using Firefox. What I have been doing is copying what I try to post
and if it times out I close the tab, open a new one and paste it and try again. Sometimes it takes right away, the next time you are back to doing the long
wait.

I am not having the problem myself, Alison, but am getting reports of it.
The board is here. This is one post just in ... Hey Doc, I'm having real problems getting 411 to work. Took me 6 times of loading 411 and exiting to get it to load and then took 6 minutes to get into this forum. For the last month or so, even if I get on 411, it takes forever for a forum to load and most the time it won't load at all. I use window washer that cleans everything when the browser is closed so that's not the problem. For the last couple weeks, I have not been able to go all the way thru 411 - it just stops functioning. What do I need to look at. These problems are not occurring anywhere else - just on 411. This is using IE. Firefox is no better, trying to log in on firefox now and have been waiting 4 minutes - so far nothing. ETA ... this post timed out after 4 minutes ... retried and it went through. Firefox/2.0.0.12

On my board and this one. WinXP, FF 1.5, DSL. I just tried my board in IE7 - took a good minute to load. I've not had any white pages.

it also seems to have hang up problems "waiting on images.yuku..." right now in opera it's halted at 27 of 28 loaded. and has done so on several
refreshes. but several times i've seen it halted waiting on an images server. or just "waiting on xxxxxx .yuku." it just took several seconds,
maybe 45 for the post editor wysiwyg to load on this edit.

No white pages, but extreme slowness in loading. FF 2, WinXP Pro SP2, high speed DSL. My board is taking 2 and three minutes to load, attempts to post are timing out causing
the contents to disappear should I hit the back or stop buttons. Uploading images to my Yuku galleries are next to impossible due to time outs. It takes at
least 3 attempts to get the images uploaded.

from support.yuku.com" and timed out. hit "try again"and support hung on "reading static yuku.com"

My board has been slow off and on for at least a couple of weeks. I use Firefox (on a Mac with high speed DSL), but most of my members use IE with Win or
something else. A few of them are still on dial-up so this has been even more agonizing for them. Most all of us have been experiencing time-out periods,
extreme slowness, and blank pages. I've got a couple of members who have stopped visiting the board because
it's too frustrating. I can't really blame them. It's irritating waiting for a page to load, it's even more irritating (at least for me)
waiting while trying to answer a post...For a short time last night things seemed to have sped up slightly, but it was still choppy in loading. This morning
it's slow and difficult going again.
My board is taking 2 and three minutes to load, attempts to post are timing out causing the contents to disappear should I hit the back or stop buttons. Same here. it also seems to have hang up problems "waiting on images.yuku. I've had that too. My own images are stored on my server. And over the past couple of days I've felt like I'm going to lose my mind. During a change of backgrounds/images nothing would stick for any length of time. Different problem, and I've reported that elsewhere, but it's just more frustration. I'll be more than happy to offer any other info. I can if needed. Backyard Discussions

When I go to post something I hit "Post", then wait several minutes just to find a white screen saying Connection was reset. So I push refresh, same thing happens, I refresh several times and unable to return to my home page until I use my bookmark in FF. Also, the board is intermittently slow, unpredictable. I have cable internet, FF, Windows Vista, my home is http://friendswithoutborders.yuku.com/directory , and this is getting frustrating Thank you for all your hard work!!!

Okay, it's the weirdest thing, but for 4 days I was having so many issues with hanging on pixel.quantserve.com, static.yuku.com, and the actual board urls
(http://caedian.yuku.com , http://sygil.yuku.com , http://sigils.yuku.com, http://magicsrpgrealm.yuku.com , and Support).
This morning, first thing caedian.yuku.com would not load at all, but Google loaded fine. Clicked stopped, clicked refresh, clicked stopped, clicked the link in my favorites, clicked stop, closed the Firefox window, talked to my admin who was having the same problem the past few days, he had no problem loading caedian.yuku.com. Opened the browser again, clicked stopped. Screamed in frustration... rebooted computer.... I haven't had a single problem since. I don't get it. I'm still waiting for a problem to come up. It was intermittent, yesterday was the worst for me I think, so I'm not convinced it's fixed by rebooting... but then again, with my computer, who knows. But just adding in my issues so I have it documented for myself at least that the problem was happening and at this time is cleared. |
