For some reason my mouse won't right click, most of the time...I have tried everything I can think of to get it working, even bought a new one and it
isn't working either....am thinking I must have some virus/malware or something that is stopping it...ran every antivirus etc., I have and still something
is stopping it....even tried a system restore and it wouldn't work either....anyone got any ideas for me to get around this annoying problem? Renegal59

My niece had a similar problem only a couple of weeks ago. It turned out she unplugged the old one and plugged the new one straight in.
What she should have done is totally closed down her comp then while it was shut down/turned off, plug the new mouse in. Then restart the comp. Try that and see if it works. |

Don't forget you can use shift + F10 to open the right click menu without using the "right click"
You can also use the exclusive key to open the menu. This key is between right ALT and CTRL key.

You should be able to hot swap USB devices (i.e. plug in a mouse and have it work without powering down).
renegal59, is this problem happening in every application or just your web browser? Can you uninstall and reinstall the mouse driver? If you do that, this might be a good time to make sure you have the newest driver. You should be able to get the model number from the bottom of the mouse and download the driver from the manufacturer's website. |

But the other week when my niece had problems with her mouse we ended up changing over to a new one. Still it wouldn't work even after checking all the settings. We then thought, there must be a loose connection in the point, so we took the comp down to pcworld. The chap set up set up her tower in the shop, plugged in the mouse, then turned the comp, and it blasted worked. He told us that one must always power down. On me telling him that I had swapped a mouse without powering down before, he told me, I couldn't have done. At the time I felt a bit of a fool. |

Well, it's not often anyone can make me feel a fool. I am now at a gorious age where that part of the brain that causes one to feel embarrassed has been
switched off, lol. There are some compensations of reaching the late Autumn of ones life.
