jukebox is scrolling with our newsreel |

is there a way to add a community jukebox to our home page? not one that would start up, one that sits near the banner, members can chose to listen to music
while they're logged in, going from thread to thread (unlike profile pages where the music ends as soon as you leave the page)
i've heard it's possible, but have no idea where to start. thank you!

Have you seen this somewhere? I know how to add the music to the page, but even if I did when you went to the next topic the music would restart.

I looked around trying to find info on creating a playlist for my profile. In one of those threads, I read someone who felt the music at start up was
annoying, another poster responded, saying he had a jukebox feature on the domain page that people could listen to while they were on the site.

That sounds familiar to me also. But I thought they had just embeded some music and wanted to use a Jukebox image with the start button. Which would make the
music not autoplay, but still as a person opened a new thread they would need to click start again and the song would start all over...not pick off where it
had been.

Would this work? Could we create a link on our home page, that would open another window to a private playlist. If the window is minimized and independant, would we be able to move our site with interferring with the flow of the music? If yes, could you tell me (using dummy level, promised I won't be insulted  ) how to go about it? Thanks

Sure that would work, but I expect given the option people would just open something of there own to choose the music they like. But if you want to add a link
to your board to your playlist you could. You could enter the link in your Custom Header, Footer, Sidebar or any of the forum announcement spots.
What do you need instructions on? Placing the link? |

Thank you! Yes, placing the link. We don't have a side board. Is there something we could do like add that jukebox thing? Meaning a blank square near the
header, where I can paste a picture of a jukebox, they could click on that and end up at the play list.

Ok look in your skin list for the last skin called "Copy of Little Ghosts". I added the jukebox there so you can see. It is at the top left. But it
pushes the forum down and also the image is set on white so it looks a bit odd. Look at it though and check if it does what you want first. Then if it does,
and you want me to "get the white out" of that image so it looks better against the blue let me know. Also, on that particular skin, I think it might
look better inside the frame of the skin below the header, but let me know.

It works! I think you are right about the placement, I'd prefer it in the skin and not at the header. Maybe under the scroll? Even if we have to make the
image smaller, that would be fine with me. Yes, please take the white out.

Ok check now. I added the code to your announcement box just below your marquee. I used a jukebox image I had in my computer that had no background. I have a
lot of others if you don't like that one though. I centered it, but it can be on the left or right also. Right now, being in the announcement box, it
appears on all pages as you have your main announcement set to do so. If you only want it to appear on the front I can add a custom box and put that skin only
on the main page, but let me know
 .

It looks great and everyone is happy with it. we will end up with multple playlist. do you want me to tell you when that happens or can you instruction me on
how to change the link.
there other, its slightly off-topic. we used your little ghost (love them) but we changed the color because some members were having a hard time reading the board. But we can't figure out how to change the color of the topics, page counts, last post etc. its a pale aqua color, when you scroll over it the font appears darker but if you don't you can't really see it. thanks |

To edit the url just go to Community information. The link is in the announcement box. If you worry you will erase it or mess it up, just copy it and paste it
to notepad. Then save that so you have an original. Or at least that is what I do. Anyway then all you would need to do is change the url between this: <a
href="your new url here" ...>...</a>
On your board, the little ghosts have a bit of a hard time when the color is changed. If I had thought of it when I made it I would have saved the corner images in layers so the background color would be easy to change. As it is you get funny chunks of black if you change the background. But if you like it that way that is all that matters. If you don't, look in your skin list. I made a copy of the skin and put the black back in part of it and made your content areas in your new color. If you like that one, just click on apply. To change the link colors on your current skin, look for this in the CSS: a { color: #6E9293; }The darker color is the one you see listed for "a:hover". If you change the #6E9293's to a darker color you should be ok. |

Me again! Now that we're back to our usual skin, the jukebox is running away with the marquee. I tried playing around with it. But, it's not working.
