molly, it's nice to see someone using their promotion graphic.
I just use my board ones in my profile, but I have used the one for my profile on other websites. |

I'm a member of a few spin off boards from the board I co-admin. It is a support board for women who are trying to become mommies, or for those who are
already. It's mostly public so we get a lot of members who come, go, come back, go again LOL.

When I started my ezBoard on April 22, 2001 it was in response to a growing number of discontented Kiss fans on the bands official message board (I was a
moderator there).
We enjoyed a great deal of success and at one point had a few hundred regular, active posters. Just over two years ago an online friend of mine opened a board that covered the same range of subjects as mine and bit by bit the Kiss aspect of my community started to die out. My friend has a very dynamic personality and he drew in a lot of people and kept the board going and the board is a beehive of activity. As for my own place, before the move, I had a core group of about 50 people who posted regularly but now that we are at Yuku that number has dropped to maybe 10 or 15. My daily post counts have dropped like a stone and after 7 years now the community has pretty much run it's course; we are averaging maybe a dozen posts a day. The really messed up part of all of that is that there are enough funds in my boards "Community Chest" that we are "gold" and ad-free until April 27, 2011.

I don't know if anyone here every visited the Sci Fi Channel's website back when it was the Dominion. They had an area on there called Caption This!
where you could riff on and funny comments about screenshots of whatever was playing on the SFC at the time. In the same manner as the show Mystery Science
Theater 3000. (it was even listed as MST3K Presents Caption This!) A nice little community built up there between the folks joking (calling ourselves
Cappers), hanging out and making each other laugh.

We're all about Toy Cars! Yep, there's a whole mess of grown up kids out there still playing with Hot Wheels and Matchbox, as well as a host of other
diecast cars, LOL.

My board is a small private community for women who follow a pagan path
We talk about paganism but also about everything under the sun! It's our home
away from home. Most members have been with us since the birth of the board in 2003.

Well, it's a long story, but if you care to know… On May 18, 2004 I was at the Showtime website gathering the four photo stills they had to offer from the most recently played episode of their series Q u eer As Folk, when I noticed the 'community' link on the page and thought, let me try this, what the heck. I'd never been to a message board before. With fondness of the English language and never at a loss at expressing my opinion, I gathered innumerable friends since and too few enemies to even recall. After a month, one of those new friends, Shannon, suggested we start a dedicated thread of our own, one we would eventually renew every time Showtime created new forums in their QAF message board, and stick together. That was the beginning of "Keeping A Light In The Window for Dr. David" (a departed character of the show, even then). In a month, we were the second busiest thread after the "HORS House," which had been established for years, and we never fell from that position.
The show is long gone; we hardly discuss it anymore, unless the doings of some former cast member makes the news. Series star Gale Harold went on to a Broadway run of "Suddenly Last Summer," a short-lived Fox series Vanished, guest starred on Gray's Anatomy last fall, and will be on Desperate Housewives this May 18th. Sharon Gless got another TV series on USA and Chris Potter, the Dr. David character (and my avatar), had two successful TV-movies earlier this year on Lifetime and Hallmark. We have long since evolved to a group of friends -some there since the first week- who simply want to check in with one another every day, and we enjoy doing it.

I run a Mental Health Board that I started in 2000 as an add-on from a Mental Health site I run. It's a very small board, despite being around for a while,
but it ticks along ok. Not many new members have joined since migrating to Yuku, but then there are so many more boards around now to choose from
