I am trying to put up my first post of the day and every time I try to do so I am
told, only one message can be posted every 60 seconds.
As I have not posted anything yet why am I getting this message ? Is this a temporary or an ongoing problem ? |

As lasher said, it's probably that post flood control was turned on (accidentally during the outage, maybe). That will cause the problem, so an owner or
admin will need to go into the Security Settings and check flood control to off.

Your post is stamped in the future. Please ask the board owner or an admin to turn off the flood control check. You can then make a post while it is turned off. After that you will be able to post like usual, whether the flood control is on or off. |

Yep..happening to me too. Also my previous posts are all over the place.. they need to get thier act together.. or I will have withdrawal symptoms..

Hi phil, please ask the board admin to disable the flood control check on the security page until the time has caught up with the time stamp on your post.

Are there any weird consequences if we turn off flood control? Are we likely to operate safely without it? If it causes issues, I'd just as soon forgo it
unless there's a compelling reason to switch it on.

I have flood control off on all my boards.
The only reason why it is there is to prevent spamming. |

On ezboard, post flood was generally worth the inconvenience because it could help save a forum in the event of a malicious spam attack. Without it, the entire
20 pages of a forum could be pushed of the back end in a matter of minutes. With it on, you had a bit more time for someone to notice and alert an admin (so
they could ban the spammers) or a mod (at least they could delete/move the spam as it happened to keep good topics from getting offed.
On yuku, there isn't the 20 page limit so that isn't a danger. Unless a board has a problem with spammers or a few overly talky members, I'd leave it off too. |

And add to that the fact that you can instantly hide all posts by a certain member, so if someone floods your board you don't have to delete them page by
page.
