Posts: 15 17-Jul-08 10:36 PM	Tags : None Hello, I've been having trouble changing my Community Description. I originally had it set to a quote, but decided to change it. After hitting "submit" the text is saved, but the change doesn't show up when you search for the community. I've waited 24 hours, attempted to make multiple changes--nothing works. The same applies to the community avatar. My board is located at: sadiablohall.yuku.com The script I would like to appear is: "We are an adult-oriented board which welcomes free speech and open-minded persons. If you are offended by explicit or sexual material, please look elsewhere. To get a better idea of what we offer and who we are, check the Announcements. -Sadi" Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Posts: 1169 18-Jul-08 1:48 AM	This usually happens as a result of not having anything in the Community Avatar box. You can put a transparent gif in there, just to get it to save, if need be. There is one here: http://static.yuku.com/co...s/images/transparent1.gif Please make sure that you have something in the community avatar box and if you still have trouble, make one change at a time instead of multiple changes. That way you will know what in particular it does not like.

Posts: 15 18-Jul-08 3:37 PM	I did start off having something in the community avatar box. The community avatar does not change when you search for the forum, nor does the description. It saves the change as seen from my admin controls... the change just doesn't show up elsewhere as far as I can tell. I tried using the transparent gif to no effect. Even changing the avatar/description one at a time doesn't make a difference.

Posts: 1169 18-Jul-08 5:59 PM	If you mean the changes aren't showing on forum find or Google, that is nothing to do with what you have done. That is down to when these things are updated. I'm not sure anybody really knows when forum find is updated but it might be a month. Google will depend on many factors, determined by itself. If you are making changes to your page and the next time you open that page it is the same as when you saved it, then there is no bug.

Posts: 768 18-Jul-08 6:30 PM myrtle	I believe I read somewhere that a mini update of forum find is done every couple of days and a major one every 2 weeks. If you think it is taking too long to update your information Diablo I would put in a ticket and someone will give it a kick for you I expect. It does take a while for some info to update. I know changing the name of the board and changing the avatar is virtually instant, but changing the information of a board does take sometimes several days longer.
