Latarnia, I think that were both misunderstanding each other. It stems from the question of will admins be able to back up their boards. In reference to the promise of backing up boards, it was when it was proposed during the pre-Yuku days, as I understood it, backing up to your PC. Lasher made mention of the same thing. I suppose we're both assuming we're talking about the same thing when we are talking about different things.

I fully support being able to back up my board at will on Yuku's servers, but most of the talk pre-Yuku was about backing them up on a PC. Backing up on Yuku's servers besides the automatic back ups, no one has brought up in conversation while I've been around. But backing up to your own PC has and is not possible they say.

I would have to guess that admins backing up on Yuku's servers must have been discussed at one point by staff and devs, makes sense that it would... but I don't know the plausibility of it (I would think it would be doable...) or how high priority it would be if it were able to be done. Because as long as the boards are automatically backed up and can be requested to be restored, if I were Yuku, it would be low priority for me to put in. But that's just my opinion

So really is it a broken promise? I think if we look at it from the standpoint of backing up to your PC, yeah you could say so, but... the post you found from Google we can safely say is unclear on how he meant admins would be able to back up boards... it could be that it's just a feature on 'the list' that hasn't made it live yet.
Also, sometimes you try to do something only to find out later that it can't reasonably be done. Is it a broken promise if you tried whole heartedly and failed? In my opinion no. There have been many occasions in my professional life where I've tried whole heartedly to keep a promise and failed... and have had people try whole heartedly to keep a promise to me and failed. I don't fault someone if they tried.

No one said Yuku was 'finished' when it went out of beta, just most of the features were in. No system is ever fully complete, and Yuku was designed with the thought in mind to be able to add features, maybe admins backing up is just one of those things we have to look forward to.
