In the upper left hand corner of the board you will see something that says:
"Alternate Designs"
and below that you will see two different links:
"Default | Hearts"
It's nice to be able to toggle back and forth.

If you have a chance, go over to the Domain Skins forum in Support.

I thought we could only give members the choice of what skin to view with if we used Library skins.
I can't see that hearts one in the library so I wonder if they have sorted it so we can use our customised skins to chop and change with now. It will be nice if they have.. |

You can use any skin. The style switcher chooses it
based on the skin's ID.
For local skins (ones from your own personal library), on the Admin menu, go to Design > Personal Skins. Scroll down to the skin you want to use and hover over the edit (or any button) next to that skin and the url in the status bar at the bottom of the browser shows the number circled in red, that is the skin id. Thanks Casey. That style switcher never worked on custom made skins. It's great that it now does.

Has the style switcher been updated? I tried it ages ago to give an alternate colour-scheme for some people with poor eyesight but it had lots of issues
(cannot remember quite what ) and it was dropped.
I just looked at the log of our discussions and I said this (feb '08) :
"However, it is clear that the code for this doesn't work that well, on my test board and on Yuku's own forums. It causes graphical glitches
with Firefox, and complete disasters with Opera. Funnily enough it is one of the very few things that work best with IE."

I think there are still difficulties with installing in on your on board ...
But, it's fun to see a skin that is a little more "decorated" in Support. Brought a smile to my face it did.

The style switcher is for CSS only. So if you have the "main" skin you are using with html buttons and other html you will see those things in any
skin you switch to. But if you do not use those buttons in the main skin and also add the html for anything you might use in the "switch to" skins,
then you can use it and have it change everything.
What I did was in the main skin I used a one pixel transparent image in all the icon spots. Then I defined those spots in the CSS with the image and the size. That way in each skin I can have different ones. More work that way, but I like things to match, hahaha. Now let me see if I can get that bifocal one done I have been meaning to add for 3 days now, lol. |

That style switcher never worked on custom made skins. It's great that it now does.Chris made the switcher to work with both when he first put it up. It hasn't been changed to work with them. |

I've used the style switcher on many boards too, with success on local and library skins. The only thing to keep in mind was that it doesn't change the
html, it just switches out the css. So in some skins, you'd need to add css to cancel out html from the default skin. But it's always worked just fine.
