It can be hid in any ad. It wants you to click it so it can install. It did originate from google.

Good luck then everyone cause I am telling you that cause of how it is transmitted. If you want it to happen then by all means keep doing what you are doing. I
do not get paid for helping people get rid of that virus at all, I just know the way to get rid of it..... PERIOD! AVG does not stop that program what so ever!
I have AVG on my laptops that both have got the same malware in the past. They can't find it cause its not them. If it is Google ads then they have been
affected if none of you believe me go to your PC shop and ask them to explain to you what Antivirus 2008 or 2009 do and how it operates. It is not just porn
that does it tho it is the CODEC that I talked about that it hides in. Sorry for trying to help! I will try not to doing it anymore.

Does anyone know the status of this issue? My members will not visit yuku. So I have started the process of setting up a new board elsewhere. This
"solution," however does not please me. I liked yuku & the ability to customize, etc.
Although I may be leaving yuku, I would really like to see an Admin address the issues with an update. As previous posters mentioned, my members don't visit sites (i.e. porn) that would cause the trouble. They only visit my forum. No clicking on ads. Just redirects & trojans. Thanks. |

with the name of premiumvirusscan.com.

Chris, it just happened about 20 minutes ago when I logged out of my Admin account and visited my board. My users are still getting swept away to various
sites, without clicking on any ads. Chris, Alison, any of you who represent YUKU, all you have to do is LOG OUT of your accounts and visit a few Yuku boards
and see for yourself instead of asking us when it's happening. The fact is IT IS HAPPENING currently and YUKU wide. Why are you making us, as users, do the
work for you when it's something that can be figured out on your end. TURN THE ADS OFF UNTIL IT'S FIGURED OUT. It's THAT simple.
And to the GENIUS who keeps blaming the CODEC, get your head out of your you know what. The problem is the YUKU ads and nothing else. |

I will do that as soon as you can prove to me that it isn't what I am talking about.
So until then just keep your head IN your you know what. Do any of
you have ad free on your forums since this started? If you do and this is still coming up its not just the ads. I am in no way saying to anyone that this
isn't in the ads I have just been saying that the C.O.D.E.C. is a root what is a cause. Everyone needs to stop acting like I don't know what I am
talking about. YUKU needs to look into it to see if any of the ads have any C.O.D.E.C. roots or anything in them.

I have a pay account. It does not happen to me on my forum or any other UNLESS I log out and become subject to ads. I do know what I am talking about. You are
not the only person around here who might know a bit about computers. Log out of your paid account and see for yourself. it is not happening to supporters
WHILE LOGGED IN, or to Paid Boards. How is that not enough proof?

Thats the thing I have been talking about! I am not dumb enough to do that! LOL! Like I said for the YUKU tech people look into see if there and
C.O.D.E.C.'s in any of the ads. <<<---No one but YUKU needs to worry about this cause you can't look to see if the ads have them. This might
not be what is actually causing the problems cause of the fact that this Antivirus malware is the most sophisticated one out in some time cause of its
changeability to avoid getting removed.

<<<---No one but YUKU needs to worry about this cause you can't look to see if the ads have them.Every board has to worry because this problem is coming from the ads on Yuku, my boards reputation is going down the toilet as a place to avoid, it affects my board so its my problem. None of the gold boards are reporting this problem so that further places the blames on Yuku and Google. When I log into my Yuku Supporter account I don't see this problem. How much evidence will it take before someone recognizes the obvious? hello... hello? if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck.... You aren't dealing with net noobies here, no one is buying the BS it came from else where. |

I haven't read all of this thread because it's now 3 pages long. I have supporter and my board is gold so I have not experienced this problem but I
have had another two emails today from people saying they aren't logging into Yuku at all until this problem is sorted because both of them had their comps
pack in on them because of this virus or whatever it was.
I now have to let them know when it is safe to come back. So far all I have seen in the way of staff support is all the member being asked questions. I would now like to ask a question. Are the techs actually actively working on this problem or are they just collecting information up to this point. I think it's very, very important that Yuku protect their customers NOW by turning the ads off. It's not good enough that people are still risking getting a virus by visiting Yuku. This isn't only affecting registered members, this is affecting visitors checking out Yuku. Do the powers that be honestly want to get such a bad name that people start avoiding Yuku like the plague. It wont take long for this to get out on the rest of the web. |

We have a Gold Board, and have had the problems and one member still can't access the internet at home because of what happened to her. I've been
wondering why there are ads there at all even that only non-supporters see. I can't figure out what being a Gold Board even means anymore. lol! When our
supporter-members aren't logged into Yuku they see ads.
Kind regards- rainbow glo |

I was so hoping there would be an update on this issue this evening. ..sigh. I've had to tell my board members to not visit any other Yuku sites until
this gets resolved.
I know of someone else today that just lost their computer, too. Please -- is there anything Staff can tell us??? GTPFOREVER -- I ran the program you recommended. I have six versions/instances of C.O.D.E.C. that have been downloaded to my computer (And I absolutely do not visit porn sites !) and 182
"parasites." So, I'll have to look into how to get them removed. The Spyhunter is $30 and I'm not certain that I want to pay that right
now.
Also, my understanding of what you've been saying is that the problem could be the ads; one or more of the ads could be carrying the CODEC virus/trojan/or whatever it's called. And that once the virus/trojan is on your computer that it morphs and is difficult to track and get rid of. Have I got it right? Also, I googled Antivirus 2009 -- egads! Not good.

Have you checked your settings in your management for who sees ads and who doesn't. You may have it accidently set for logged out members to see ads.

Hi Troy --
Thank you for the link to Spyhunter! With the free version that they have, I was able to run the scan and track down and eliminate the parasites by following the paths. It took me awhile because there were some hidden away in Mozilla/Firefox, and since I normally run IE/AOL, I kept on missing them, even though I eliminated the cookies in my Internet folder and had run several McAffee Security scans they didn't show. I'm not certain what happened to the Codec(?) malware (I had about six of them) -- but they're not coming up anymore. I'm just hoping they didn't turn into something else .
Anyway, thanks again.

Have you checked your settings in your management for who sees ads and who doesn't. You may have it accidently set for logged out members to see ads. That's very interesting. Zandranna - or anyone else - where would I find that setting? I didn't know it existed and haven't been able to find it just now... Thanks. |
