I've a friend (brand new to the computer world) who thought he was downloading an anti-virus program, he clicked on that Anti-Virus 2009 Scanner ad and
within hours he got a notification from Mastercard of suspicious activity on his credit card. Oh and he isn't a member of yuku either.

Antivirus 2009 is a virus. My sons computer was infected and he doesn't even know about yuku, so I don't think it's relevant to this site.
You can remove it by downloading a program called "Smitfraudfix" but it has to be run in "Safe Mode" on your PC. This was the program McAfee support sent me when I called them for help. |

It IS relevant because both members and non-members alike who come into Yuku have been infected because Yuku uses Google ads, which is the source of an
infected ad. Which ad, no one knows because no one from Yuku or Google has removed it. In the meantime, no one wants to comment on profiles or visit non-Gold
boards.

Oh dear I am confused now as to whether this is the right place to bring my msn group now, none of us are what you would call pc litterate
and yes we are expecting to see adds on the community but nothing like what has been discribed here is this reaaly tipical of what is going to happen ? if I
don't buy support for my community and what about the other msn groups I and others belong to that have also moved here. I didn't believe my friend
when she said she was bombarded with ads and stuff when she first tried to join yuku, so now I'm worried about inviting any more member to join and putting
them at risk of being attacked as for some the P is their life line.

Von, IMNSHO...............no matter where you go on the internet you always risk getting a virus or malware or trojans or whatever. You
run that risk when turn on your computer.

Thank you for the reassurance I myself have not experienced any problems to date, just wondering though are the pop up type a feature of yuku advertising or
should it be just in and advertising box as in the profile ? also if you are a member of more than 1 community are you safer to have personal support will a
group gold protect you outside of the community, members and admin

I'm not a technical person, but YUKU is "sticking" for me...and this sound like it could be the problem. I'm running IE 7.0.6001 and use
Vista. I can't scroll down a page until 15 - 30 seconds have elapsed...perhaps my computer blocking the ad or the URLs loading.
It's incredibly annoying. Thanks to anyone who is working toward the solution. |

My members are getting the Ads, yet I've PAID for a Gold Community, which claims that with that payment, no Ads are received by the members.
This sucks YUKU. |

Nobby, if you've checked to make sure that your Gold hasn't expired, please put in a Help Ticket to get this resolved.

We are still getting this pop up - yesterday. Have ran anti virus, etc. and still is popping up and downloading itself. Only thing that has worked is to
restore the computer to an earlier date, then after a couple hours it pops up again. Anti virus 2009. Help.

This is malaware and can come from anywhere. I got it off MySpace a few weeks ago--I know this because it was the only place I'd gone that day when it
started popping up every so often. You need to run a good program to get rid of it--The Superantispyware is the one I used.
Not knocking AVG Free, but I was using it, had it updated, etc., and it did not catch it. I am now using BitDefender. |

dwanejonston wrote:This topic is 8 months old and the ad causing this was removed back then. You registered for yuku today and this is your only post you have made so far, only a few minutes after registration, I have a feeling that you may not have gotten this from yuku. Maybe the best thing to do is read through this topic, you will find some useful links. You could also do a google search on how to get rid of this. I am sorry to hear that your computer is infected.
