The Clearing is my board's oldest forum (next to OOC Oubliette). It used to have the most topics and posts out of every other forum. Can this be fixed without losing the current posts?

Huge amount of topics missing in my forum? |

I noticed today that "The Clearing" forum on my board looks like it's been cleaned out, leaving just three pages of topics. The log doesn't
show any deletions at all. It's as if they just up and disappeared!

Hello blue green gem,
Is this recent? Do you remember the last time when you saw those topics? Is it only in one forum? |

Hey Chris,
It's only happened in The Clearing that I can see. |

The oldest post in that forum is 7/26/07
I can't tell for sure by the cp when the board was migrated, and I have a feeling that the date in the importer is incorrect, but an educated guess is that it was imported on March 3rd 2008 It's important to know whether the post loss occured during or after migration and whether those were posts made on yuku or not. Can you confirm with certainty that you *did* see the topics after the migration? |

Unfortunately, I can't. My moderator has been posting regularly in the forum which is why I contacted her to see if she knew anything. She replied and said
that this is new for her.

According to a cached version of the board, the topics you are referring to were not there on October 21, 6 days ago, so we're not looking at recent data
loss.
It's very important to knwo whether the post loss happened during migration or not. When your mod says this is new, does that mean that the topics werre there recently? Does she know how recent? |

I sent her a message with the url of this thread to see if she'll come and provide more information.

I remember seeing the topics in the clearing after it migrated to yuku. I think the last time I remember seeing the topics had to have been on the twentyith.

I was able to find an old version of the board, which sustains the post loss report.
Now comes the difficult part though. In order to restore the posts, the board will have to be resotred to the most recent date when the posts were there. This means that you will lose the posts made since that date. We will need to know though whether those posts were there on the 21st or not, because if they were not and the board gets restored to the 21st, you'd lost 6 days worth of posts and you still wouldn't have your topics back. I am very sorry for this trouble. |

I'd have to say that it isn't worth it. I know that's a ton of history gone but... I'd hate to see the current stuff disappear.
Oh well. Thank you very much for your help.

I have an archived version of your board, but I'm going to try and find a more recent one. I'm a bit swamped at the moment, but will try and look for
it tomorrow.
You could go through the archived version and see if there are any important topics you'd want to copy and save, perhaps repost. I am truly sorry that this happened. |

Oh no, don't worry about it. At least the threads go back to 2007 so nothing terribly recent was lost. It's just lost history. I'd rather lose
history than to have the current stuff disappear.

Thanks but I'm still going to get you a recent archived copy though, just in case
