I write wrestling matches and if I make a little mistake I have to delete the entire topic and repost the whole thing.
It will be a great day when it's finally fixed.
I'm gonna edit this.

Ok. Thanks. I like to write my match in my "office" then move it. But instead of moving it I have to just go to the forum and copy and paste.

Just a suggestion, maybe you could write it on a notepad first so that you can make corrections before you post?

I decided to post this here instead of starting a new thread.
My board is having problems with editing links. If someone comes across a broken link and tries to edit it with the proper one...it does not work. When you click on the add hyperlink button...it also does not work. Here are a couple examples from my board. http://www.beffrey2.yuku.com/topic/577 Notice the first link in the post is broke. I can't edit and fix it. I had to make a second post further down with the link. It works. http://www.beffrey2.yuku.com/topic/581 In post number one..the link did not work..he could not edit it...so he just deleted it and posted the proper link in another post. This use to work. So I assume it is a bug? Links are a VERY important part of this message board. Please help. Thanks in advance, Jeff NC Weather Forum: www.beffrey2.yuku.com/ |

Hi Jeff,
This too has been bugged up. Long links break after you edit a post. I do hope to see this fixed soon, this being one of the reasons: http://gethelp.yuku.com/topic/786 Must test again, but I believe you can save the links (not break them) by unchecking convert URLs when you edit (not sure, will get around to testing today) |

The Convert URLs thing only breaks when editing a lead. It'll post correctly the first time. The best bet is to use a link with text created via the
editor. Those will survive edits. Replies are unaffected by the bug.
The spacing issue can be worked around by editing the affected post in the WYSIWYG editor. The person doing the editing shouldn't have to make any changes. The editing process should automatically fix the mess. |

I'm having a problem at one of my boards as well. When you edit a post sometimes the edit does not take the first time. I found if I edit the post again
right after the first edit the stuff I edited appears.

When you edit a post sometimes the edit does not take the first time.
I've noticed some lag in edits "taking" over the past couple of days (support.yuku.com, fls1-1 /cdb7@6634; brewersfandemonium.yuku.com, fl1-17 /cdb9@8447). You shouldn't actually have to edit again. If you reload the page once or twice, you'll see it. EDIT: I just ran into this short lag when editing a post at skins.yuku.com, fl1-17 /cdb7@220". EDIT 2: It's also happening when editing this post: 4:25 PM CST (GMT -6).

Depending on where in the thread the post is located, you could work your way around it by reposting the edited version and use split/merge to get it back into
place. A pain, I know, but it's a thought.

editing not working on my home board either in certain threads ...
the point is nothing works. not refreshing, not trying to edit several times, nada... if it ain't working it ain't and that's that . help? you really have to solve this , PLEASE, it's not a pretty sight when you see 2 or 3 or even more posts by the same person last in a thread just because they can't edit... and you can't say anything either for not using the edit button when the posts starts something like "^$#%$edit not working" or "we lost edit again!" or "o-key- edit not working [...] still not working [...] last edit, i swear" thing-ie
any suggestions? or please help and solve this as fast as you can... peace, Lexxa |

I edited reply #2 in your GROBIES WITH TROUBLE POSTING topic and did not have a problem. According to the replies, not everyone has a problem with editing. There are some super long topics on that board. Could you pay attention to when exactly the editing problem occurs? Does it happen to occur only in those super long topics and not in shorter topics? |

Found it.
What you are dealing with here is not a general editing problem on the board. It is a documented bug. The topic you are referring to has over 18.000 replies. Super long topics run into problems. This is bugged up and is waiting for a developer to look at. Perhaps you could talk to an admin to have the topic closed and a follow up topic started for now. |
