Can MSN files be archived at Yuku? |

Is it possible to transfer and archive MSN message board files to Yuku? I know that AIMOO has a system for that.
How about Yuku? Thanks. I've been searching for information here, but haven't found anything so far.

yup I'd like to know this too, can we bring over old boards (messages) from msn group to our nice new shiny yuku community?

Yes we can migrate MSN groups now.
I would not call it "archive", because we will be migrating the groups with all members and settings intact. Once your group arrives on yuku, you will be able to use it. Everythign will be there.. your calendar, your forums, topics, all ready to use. We just made the announcement. Please check this topic for details on how to request a migration. http://support.yuku.com/topic/10785/master/1 Don't hesitate to spread the word

Crap! Crap! Crap!.....You think that is bad cooking kay. I just deleted my group on the 30th, because I didn't figure after all the talk,
that Yuku was going to do this. So I figured my group was going to be Msn dust anyway, so I hit delete.....now I wish I had waited.

Do you know Kay, the moment I read this thread I thought of you. Such a shame you had all that hard work but at least those that follow you wont have to go
through it.

Yes it is.... It broke my heart, but I was told Yuku didn't have a way to do this, so I went ahead, and deleted it, because I didn't want Msn to do it. I was just having a time taking care of the group here, then the one at Msn, so I made the decision. I thought about it for over a month. If I just waited one more week....this hurts! Angelheart |

Look at it this way Angel, at least now you have a totally fresh start, a new system, a new board and many new friends. So even though you have lost a lot you

Oh well I dont know that they would have moved right any ways. I have way to many boards. I even had to make a few more
 I think I have over 400 forums now.

I'm sorry we couldn't mention it earlier - we weren't sure yet that we'd get it to work in the first place. The developers, ChrisW and Arizona
have been very very busy with this and they didn't tell the rest of the staff even because it was such a lot of work and they didn't know whether
they'd be able to get it to work. I only heard that it was almost done less than a week ago but were still testing - so still they couldn't come right
out and say it. Kudos to them for all their time and energy in this!
Angelheart, I'm very sorry that this was your fate. Does MSN do any recoveries? Would it be worth trying (asking) if they can recover deleted data? I know that it's a long shot - and their customer support is virtually non-existent... And Kay - wow!! That's a lot! |

I emailed Msn, and they said they won't restore deleted groups. I mean they won't even help with simple questions.....why would they do
this?
I emailed them back, and told them what I thought of them, LOL I told them how unfair they are to treat all us managers of groups the way they are treating us, by dumping us by the side of the road after all the work we have done. AngelHeart |

It will look like a Yuku group Mystic.
I can only tell you what they did when bringing over ezboard. Msn might be slightly different. They brought over All our posts and replies. All of our members Our forums had the same security settings that they did on ezboard Our boards had the same security settings New boards brought over will have the original yuku skin and the owner can then go in and pick a new skin from the library or customise their own. I don't know how the categories will work because it's so long since I had an msn group that I have forgotten the layout. But if I remember rightly you don't have categories over there do you?? If not then all the forums will be in the one General Category and the owner can then go in and create categories and then drag and drop the forums into whichever one they want. I am only guessing all the above though because as I say, I can only go by our ezboards being brought over. |
