Posts: 59 16-Nov-08 10:09 PM	Tags : None I was looking at the balances for my board. www.isfteamforum.yuku.com I see that a payment was made back on January 29, 2007. It looks as if we currently have a $48.05 balance that was transfered from the EZBoard forum that has been there since Yuku took over. I do not see where a payment was made in February of 2008. But maybe its not showing for some reason. I would think a payment was made prior to the last due date or we would not still be receiving the gold status. Can someone take a look and see if I am reading that correctly and we still have a $48.05 balance? If that is what is there, I will be putting in the rest of the amount for our upcoming payment within the next couple of months. Also when the due date is getting near, are we sent a message within the 30 days prior of the due date like we were with EZboard? I notice that they at the current time, there is no where to pay for the board. Will that appear as well as time gets closer to the due date? Posts: 325 16-Nov-08 11:21 PM	As of right now, there is no notification to owners that your Gold status will be running out. I'm hoping that this will change in the future since this was a very helpful feature to most board owners. I would like that anyway. All monies will be applied to your board automatically. There is no community chest at this time and I have no idea when or if, it will ever become available. So, unless someone contributes the full amount to make your board Gold for the year, it will be applied as contributed. So there is no way to get the discount in this way, unless someone contributes the full amount at one go. Not really fair for those of us with smaller boards and members contribute when and however much they can. My members used to throw in $5 or $10 or even $1, when they could and it was greatly appreciated! I could then wait until I had the $54 for the year and make a payment. Good deal! Not anymore.

Posts: 109 17-Nov-08 12:19 AM	Hmmm. Is there any plan to sort this out? Ours will be due in February. To be honest the only reason we stuck with Ezboard was that we could get people to contribute themselves rather than us have to handle money, so we're not seen to be making a charge for membership and we're above any suspicion of keeping money for ourselves etc. Otherwise we were going to move to hosting our own board on phpbb. Then we were forced to Yuku (not by our choice). I thought something was going to be done about the community chest situation, we always pay a year in advance to get the discount, and certainly don't want our members to have to pay extra!

ISF Hectic, when board migrates, the funds in the chest gets applied, which is what happened to your board. You have $48 in your chest which counts for 326 days, those were applied in January. Posts: 59 17-Nov-08 1:20 PM	Chris, I know for a fact that we do not go over the 50,000 page views per month. So our yearly due will be $54.00. So if I understand correctly, we have a credit of $48.00 in the chest, and as long as we get at least $6 more in the account, to make the $54.00 for the year you will take out the $54.00 payment automatically for one full year? I won't need to do anything else on my end? I just need to know if we are going to have to come with $54.00 additional dollars for the board or if what I asked above is going to take care of it. I need to let my members know what we need to do before the time gets near to renew the board. I am still use to how EZBoard was set up when it came to making the payments. It was easy. All I had to do was click on the amount of the payment for a period of time and was set to go. i guess after helping to run the EZBoards forums for nearly 8 years, its still hard to understand the workings of the migration. Posts: 2205 17-Nov-08 4:18 PM munificent member	ISF, the big difference between Yuku and ezBoard is that there is no Chest. All payments are applied immediately and prorated accordingly. When your board was migrated, your ezBoard chest was emptied and your Gold was extended. The $48 got you 326 additional days. Your controls don't show a February payment because you (likely) wouldn't have made one. Yuku doesn't send any warning when Gold is about to run out. You have to watch the box in the lower right hand part of your Control Panel and plan accordingly.

In other words it looks like we have a balance in our favor at the current time. But what is being explained to me is that, it seems that you have already used the 48 dollars which would give us a zero balance. Even thugh it looks like like we have a balance, its not actually a balance that can be used toward the next due date? Its confusing as to the way it appears and the way it is being explained. So whenever an amount is contributed, it goes directly as a partial payment at that time and does not build up until the amount we need to make the full payment? Posts: 325 17-Nov-08 8:27 PM	To answer your last question.....yes. A member of my board contributed $18 to the board. Instead of that going into the Community Chest as was done in the past with ezboard (and could be applied when needed), that $18 was applied immediately and resulted in 92 days of gold. Your $48 was applied after the board was imported and that is the funds you are using right now.

Posts: 59 18-Nov-08 3:26 PM	Ok, that explains it better for my part. I do not like the way that is set up. The community chest needs to be put back in place. I am sure I am not the only one that dislikes the current setup. There is no way of getting the discount for the year unless someone is willing to float the entire 54 dollars as a single payment and since my forum is a shared with a handful of current members, I am sure that none of them wish to donate the entire amount. Since the existence of the community chest has not been available for a year (or more) since the migration started, when can we expect to see it back in use? That is one thing that attracted me to the use of EZBoard in the first place.

Several months later, she posted that management had backburnered it. I got the impression that management felt that there were grreater priorities on the developers' to-do list. This feature would have been kind of a hybrid of ezBoard's Community Chest and the current Yuku system. Funds would have to be raised within a specific period of time to take advantage of discounts. There is no need of paying 6 dollars a month (72 dollars a year) for something that we are suppose to be getting for 54 dollars. Its ridiculous and IS NOT fair to us that have had these boards for several years. It should be a priority for Yuku to to establish the community chest that they said would be put into place, to keep it's customers.
