Succesful Group Migrations |

I am interested in seeing links to groups that migrated successfully from MSN. I do not mean groups that you manually moved to
Yuku, but groups that you requested to be migrated from MSN to Yuku with Yuku's migration tool.
Please, only groups viewable by the public, not private groups, and only name of group and link, not promos.

I posted this more than 48 hours ago. It's rather sad that no one is coming forth to proudly show off their migrated
groups.

When a group migrates, they receive a link to this forum, but when the migration is 100% successful, they have no reason to come and visit here.
As with all support forums, people don't have a reason to visit unless they have a problem. I know you're worried, if you wish, I can ask some group owners of migrated groups if it is okay that I post their links here. |

That would be great. I have no idea where else to post this where it would get maximum exposure and replies.

Not all of the boards that have advertised at Promote are MSN migrations, but there are quite a few PSP boards. http://promote.yuku.com/forums/105

Here is the link to my successfully migrated community.
http://moonies.yuku.com/ Excuse the somewhat chaotic appearance, it's because I'm moving things about, & making some of my boards private. The migrated boards initially go onto a category headed 'Directory', & you can them move them about to suit yourself. I am absolutely delighted with the results. Thank you Migration Team

Very nice Moon, it looks great. Now I see that we can change the skin after the migration completes too. I was wondering about that.
Kathy, thanks, but I do not do PSP, nor am I looking for a promo board, just seeing if anyone who has had a group succesfully migrated from MSN to Yuku is willing to provide a link to show the results. |

Thank you Matthew. Mine was one of the groups that had to be migrated
in stages, as I had so much on the boards. It was a bit nerve wracking when it didn't all transfer on the first few attempts, but as you can see we got
there in the end. So you don't need to worry, your groups will be fine, the migration team is very professional, & nothing if not tenacious
lol.

CraftyMatthew wrote:Promote is a Yuku board that lets board owners/admins post an ad for their board so they can attract new members. I recommended that particular forum as I know that many of the ads are for recently migrated MSN boards, and you wanted to see some migrated boards. PSP just happens to be the subject of those boards. But it would give you an idea of what a migrated group looks like. There are other former MSN boards in some of the other forums. |

Thanks, but I did request 3 of the migrations after January 3, so I do have concerns. The one group I requested migration for before that is not one I
created, but one I was appointed to manage. I am still concerned that I will lose the content of my other groups which have not migrated completely or
successfully to other sites, like Multiply and Aimoo.

Thanks Kathy, I will consider that. I belong to a few of promo groups that moved over from MSN, one or two each to Yuku and
Aimoo, and one group that now has their own website with a promo board.

My group (private) was successfully migrated yesterday. (We had put in a request months ago)
Everyone is thrilled to tears to have our msn-group "home". Yuku did a unbelievably fantastic job. We had already started a group here and yuku brought over our original group and put it in; even successfully matching our custom designed (by me )
colors. I just can't get over what a great job they did! It's 3 AM and I can't sleep because I am so happy! Kudos to Chris and her team! |

Well, my "Reality Checkpoint" MSN Group was successfully migrated to Yuku several weeks ago, and can be viewed by going to the Yuku Community in the
link below, scrolling down to the bottom of the "Archives" Category, and clicking on "Portal to RC". The migrated Group is intended as a
"view only" archive that members of the RS Community can copy and paste messages from to start or augument discussions on the active Forums there.
I am very well satisfied with the job Chris and other members of the Yuku staff did with migrating the RC Group and there are only two glitches in that I've spotted so far: many of RC members nics print differently on Yuku than they did on MSN -- those with extended ASCII characters in them, and others (mostly nics of members who have since quit the Group) that printed as just a string of numbers. The other glitch is that some of the more elaborate graphics are incomplete or distorted -- those with elaborate "framing" constructed using advanced HTML techniques. Both of these glitches are inherent in the Yuku software, and have been discussed in various Yuku Help Forums, and they don't bother me much. There aren't very many "framed" messages, and I have copies of them saved on disk that I could put in a library somewhere and post links to if RS members ever want to see them. And I've never been especially comfortable with having all those nics of ex-members printing, anyway, out of respect for their privacy. So in a way, having the nics print in garbled form is a PLUS, not a minus -- it's possible to identify the messages posted by a particular person, without actually knowing who he or she IS.... So I'm happy with the migrated Group, and I don't mind if other Yuku members want to look at it, but I do need to point out that the subject matter is quite specialized, much of it is controversial, and a lot of the discussions are quite complex, with lots of off-topic diversions. Oh, and if anyone does look at the RC Group, there are quite a number of picts missing that did NOT get lost during the migration process -- they were removed by the members themselves long ago because they were running out of storage space. http://revolutionaryspiritualism.yuku.com/ |

I'm glad for you Sassafrassy, but I am looking for links to NON-private groups that are willing to show what their successfully migrated group looks like. Thanks Spirit, I am not really looking to read the content of these groups so much, just to see some that migrated successfully from MSN to Yuku, so
thanks for showing me your group!

My apologies ... I am a bit Hard-of-Reading and I thought the purpose of this thread was like...oh....
'People who had their MSN Groops Successfully Migrated. Like uh... I'm glad for you Sassafrassy, but I am looking for links to NON-private groups that are willing to show what their successfully migrated group looks like. Now can someone please, por favor, point me in the right direction as to HOW I can get into my old msn-handle, who is listed as a member/manager/owner BUT Sassy is using her e-mail?? |

Please do not change the direction of this discussion, thanks. Please post your question as a new discussion, or in a discussion about MSN Nicknames.
Thanks to everyone who has provided a link for us to see what migrated groups look like. I hope more will be posted. |

CraftyMatthew, re: It would really be fantastic to see any groups that I may have ever been a member of that have moved here."
Yeah, that sounds like an excellent idea, and you might visit all the original MSN Groups, if they're still there, and see if they've posted info on where they've migrated to. And IMO, it would also be a good idea to post questions about the fate of the ones you can't find on any Web venues frequented by people who used to be members of 'em. From my experience, it's much easier to find such Groups by starting where they came from, rather than searching for 'em here. A number of Groups I used to belong to that were open on MSN are private here, and others are open but aren't listed on the Yuku search menu and you essentially have to get the URL from a present member to find them ... so I wouldn't be surprised if the same is true of Groups you used to belong to.... |
