Spammers are very annoying but, with the features Yuku gives you to deal with them, their presence at your community doesn't usually constitute an emergency. They can't, for example, push old topics off the back of the forum because there is no maximum number of topics that can be posted in a forum (as there was at ezboard).

If you have your board set to allow users to ignore posts, your members can opt to ignore the spam posts until a mod/admin can deal with the spam. This is done using the Interact button (or more link).

If Post Flood Safety Check isn't enabled at your community (Admin > Community Security Settings > Post Flood Safety Check), enabling that feature during a spam attack can slow the spammer down long enough for you to decide how you want to deal with them.

Board owners, admins and moderators can hide all of the posts a spammer makes at your community. This tool is particularly helpful for moderators, as they can hide the spam until an admin can ban the spammer. Go to one of the spam posts and click the "Interact" button or "More" link (depending on which layout you're using), then choose "Show/Hide User's Posts" from the dropdown menu. That will preserve the evidence for Legal to see, while rendering the spammer's mess invisible to your members. If you prefer, move the spam to a private forum. Just don't delete it until Legal has had a chance to see it.

To report a spammer to Legal, please open a Help Ticket and select Legal as the department. In addition to giving Legal the spammer profile url, please be sure to include the URL for at least one post made by the spammer at your community. We would prefer that you report spammers via a ticket rather than at Support as using the ticket system gives Legal a record in case the user comes back and wants to know why they have been globally banned. It also prevents any reprisals from the spammer (under another name) or his/her friends against your profile or board, since they will have no way of knowing who reported them.
