Frequently asked questions

Are all featured topics displayed on the main page and in every forum?
All featured topics are displayed on the main page.
Each individual forum page only displays the featured topics that are located in that specific forum.

Will featured topics remain in their forum as well, or will they only be displayed in the featured topics section?
Featured topics will be displayed in the forum as well as in the featured topics section.

How do you control the order of featured topics?
The topic that was featured last will be located at the top. If you feature topics A, B and C in that order, they will be displayed as
C
B
A
If you wish to change the order of the topics, you can un-feature them and then feature them again in a different order.

What if I stick a topic in one of my forums that is featured, will it move to the top of the featured topics section?
Sticking a topic will not affect the order in which your topics are featured.

What happens when someone replies to a featured topic, does it move to the top?
Your featured topics list is static. When someone replies to one of the featured topics, the topics will not be moved out of order.
Also, when someone replies to a featured topic on the main page of your board, after the reply has been posted, they will automatically be taken to the forum of origin of the featured topic.

How do I remove a featured topic?
Go to the forum where the topic is located.
Check off the box next to the topic. Go to your topic tools and select "unfeature topic". The topic will be removed from the featured topics list but it will remain in its forum of course.

When a topic is featured, will it also be at the top in its forum of origin?
Unless the topic is sticky and already at the top, it will not move to the top. It will act just like any other topic in that forum.

Who can feature topics?
Board owner and administrators can feature topics.
Moderators can feature topics of the forums they moderate.

Is it possible to feature a topic that is in a private forum? If so, will all users see it?
Yes this is possible. You can feature topics from all forums, this includes MBA forums, invisible forums and forums with any kind of restrictions.

However, this is not a bright idea. Members of your board who do not have access to the forum where the topic is located will see the topic in the featured topics section. When they click on the topic they will be confronted with the forum restrictions and will be unable to read it. This is not recommended.
