Global and local account.

What is the difference between a global and a local account?
A global account is created at the yuku home page: http://www.yuku.com
A local account is an account, created at any given yuku group.

When you have a local account, the name of the group will be added to your user name, not when you post at the group where you registered, but at any other group(s) where you might post.

Global account looks like this: username.u.
Local account looks like this: username.nameofgroup

Posting at different groups.

If you are a member of different groups and one or more of those groups has moved to yuku, you do NOT need a new name for each group. You can use the same name to post on any yuku group.

Applying for membership to a group.

A group can be public or private.

Public groups: You can just start posting. There is nothing you need to do other than post. Your first post will automatically make you a member of the group.

Private groups: There are two types of private groups:

1) Strictly private:
A strictly private group cannot be entered at all unless you are a member.
When you click on a strictly private group, you will see an application page that looks like this:

Type something in the box and click apply for membership. You will receive a private message once you have been approved. You will then be able to access the group.

Non strict private groups:
You can access those groups and read the posts, but should you wish to participate, you need to apply for membership in order to post.
This setting is a bit more tricky than for private groups. You will not see 'new topic' option. Should you wish to apply, click on any given topic and then click on "reply"
An application page will appear that looks like this:

Type something in the box and click send.
You will receive a private message once you have been approved.

Free accounts and supporter accounts.

On yuku, you can have a free account or a supporter account.
In addition to not seeing any ads anywhere on yuku, a supporter account will give you a few extra options.
Here is a link to some information on supporter accounts:
