Approving membership application for a community
When users apply to your Membership By Approval (MBA) community, you will receive a message in your yuku inbox, notifying you that they are applying for access.
Path to follow to view pending users:
Navigation -> Admin menu -> members -> all
Click 'pending' in your yellow admin menu.
The pending status is also visible in the status column of your member list.
Click on the user's name
Click the approve button to approve the application.
Approving membership application for an individual forum.
When users apply for approval to an individual forum on your domain you will receive the application in your inbox.
Path to follow to approve the application:
Navigation -> admin menu -> Settings -> edit forums
Click the forum management button next to the appropriate forum
There are two ways to approve a pending user.
1) Click 'approve pending' and the user will be notified of the approved status via PM.
2) Check one of the radio buttons to approve the user to the forum. When using the radio buttons to approve, the user will not be notified via PM of the approved status.
Approving a user to an individual forum when exceptions are set in the posting restrictions section.
If you have an MBA forum with exceptions in the posting restrictions section, you can decide whether you wish for this user to override the exceptions or not.
a) Approving the user by clicking the Approve Pending button will enable the user to override the exceptions.
Example:
You have lead and reply set up so that only users with a post count of 200 and up can post replies or make lead posts.
The applicant only has a 56 post count.
Clicking the approve pending button will enable the user to post replies and make lead posts even when the exceptions are not met.
b) Approving the user by checking one of the radio buttons will enable you to control whether the user can post replies or make lead posts.
Example:
You have lead and reply set up so that only users with a post count of 200 and up can post replies or make lead posts.
The applicant only has a 56 post count.
Checking the 'view' radio button will enable the user to view but not reply or lead.
Checking the 'reply' radio button will enable the user to view topoics and reply to them.
Checking the 'lead' radio button will enable the user to view topics, reply and make lead posts.
