I'm having problems with these guys too.
Would it be possible that when Yuku bans a spammer such as these, that they also delete every post that account has made? IP banning isn't going to work if they're using thousands of proxies. |

That's a good point.... I think deleting posts are up to board Staff...

My point is that if Yuku finds a spammer, looks at their post history and sees that they've posted nothing but spam and decides to ban them, it would easy
for them to "delete all posts by this user" along with the ban.
It's great that Yuku bans these guys so fast, but we as board owners still have to manually delete their posts. I get multiple posts from these guys every single day. For me, banning them isn't an issue. Yuku takes care of that. What frustrates me is having to delete multiple posts every single day. That sounds like a small thing, but my forum has been around for 10 years and I don't want to delete posts every day for another 10. |

Its your forum, part of the TOU is that you agreed to run it. Its your responsibility to delete offending posts from your board.
I don't think there is a global delete function for staff admins, they would have to do it manually. If they are hitting your board everyday maybe you should change your tags or make the board MBA.They aren't hitting every board, but seem to target certain boards. All of Chinas IPs are listed at the following link, just go through and ban the IPs. End of problem. http://www.countryipblocks.net/malicious-internet-traffic/malicious-internet-activity-the-top-10-countries/

We do check all auto-bans after the accounts have been banned, to make sure that it was indeed a spammer who got banned. But if the script also deleted the posts and it accidentally banned an innocent person, this person's posts would be deleted as well. We've been running the script for some time now, and adjustments have been made here and there to fit the needs. At first we didn't have the script auto-ban because we wanted to see first exactly who got caught. Each time a spammer got started, the script would send a notification via email. Once we were satisfied that it was working well, the auto-ban was added. We are now receiving email notification of each ban, and each notification gets checked to make sure that it is indeed a spammer who got banned. If, say a few months down the road we are real confident that no innocents are caught in the autoban, it could be up for discussion to also have the posts deleted with the auto ban. We are as annoyed by those spammers as everyone else, trust me. In addition to the script, more is being done to stop them, but I can't run my mouth here because it would just show them how to avoid our extra roadblock. In spite of everything we do, and I can assure you it is a lot, they still get around us. An auto-ban doesn't stop them, it merely slows them down. Our extra road block does stop them dead in their tracks, but we are only able to use this extra roadblock at certain times of the day or on certain days, when time allows it. For a while there I was keeping a document that I titled Victories. I added the profile links of the spammers who got stopped by that extra roadblock. Then I got bored with updating the document but it was pretty long! |

How about The Great Wall of China for a roadblock?
Thanks Chris... |

Bad to the Bone Bob wrote: If Admins are banning these posters what more effort would it be to add a "..and delete all posts" to that ban button? Responding to a spam problem by saying "Sorry, you agreed to deleting spam manually in the TOS" is a ridiculous statement. If Yuku can do something to make our jobs easier, it would only be good business practice to do so. Banning all Chinese IPs does not solve the problem. The Nike spammer hitting my forum is also using proxy IPs from America. |

I'm sure the developers are going to jump right on adding more code for a few boards with problems...the staff and developers have bigger issues to deal
with.

I find it hard to believe that Yuku is as dismissive toward the concerns of it's customers as you are.

No they aren't , but I'm realistic in my expectations of what the network and staff can do. There are plenty of things you can do to thwart the
spammers on your own and take care of anything they have done.
Its unreasonable to expect staff to clean up your board when you are perfectly capable. |

I can imagine the screaming form some board owners/admins if there was a global delete all posts button available to staff. Some admins are very sensitive
about anyone touching their board. I'd prefer a "hide all posts" option just like boards have. That would be less likely to cause an uproar from
those sensitive admins.

I think it would bother me to have posts deleted on my board by anyone except a board admin, a board mod, or the author of the post. If something like this is enacted, I'd propose an option in the controls. If spammers are "deleted" by Yuku, admins could choose between having the posts deleted, hidden, or left alone. |
