The newer versions of browsers (especially with Firefox) usually patch security holes that were in the last version, not to mention that they are faster. It probably is not a good idea to use an old version of a browser just so you can continue using some add-on that it had. |

The link Lost Gnostic provides a download of Firefox 3.0.4. That's old, and as SciFi says, it doesn't have the latest security patches.
3.0.x will continue to be maintained and upgraded through January, 2010, however. In the past, it seems that Mozilla has maintained the previous version of Firefox for a little bit beyond the announced deadline. You can find the latest version of 3.0.x (which is currently 3.0.11) by following these steps:
You're not always going to have the direct URL handy.
Extension and theme compatibility is the reason big Firefox upgrades (e.g. 3.5) aren't pushed through automatic updates immediately upon release. There are authors who prefer not to update their work until the new version is officially released; others simply haven't gotten around to it.

Another person who would like to see the Firefox extension fixed for the latest official version, FF3.5.2. FF 3.x messed with the yuku fonts, and I was tired
of having to adjust down from huge fonts all the time. It was reported on the bug page that FF 3.5 fixes that annoying problem, and it does.
I already deleted my old yuku addon, because it was labeled Yuku 1.0, and the link from Yuku's homepage took me to a yuku addon for FF versions 2.0.0.0 - 3.0. I was hoping that deleting the one labeled Yuku 1.0 and then reinstalling the one labeled FF 2.0-3.0 would work on 3.5, but I can't install it. Not that circumventing FF security so I can run a yuku addon seems like such a great idea, anyway. FF is such a popular browser, I hope you get the addon fixed soon. Either that, or fix the yuku pages to make new email as obvious as it is on the addon. |

Boards should add this to the top of their advanced CSS to accommodate members who still use Firefox 3.0.x: table {font-size: inherit;}If you're not an owner or admin, members should let the owner or admin know that the code should be added. As a last ditch effort for boards that don't have the code, members can install the Stylish extension with the "tame large Yuku fonts" style. I believe Yuku was going to add "table {font-size: inherit;}" to its default CSS, but there hasn't been a code push to effect it. Unlike Yuku Firefox extension compatibility, the large text thing is a Firefox issue rather than a Yuku one. |
