I'm still on the fence with facebook. almost 2 years on there and one freind hahahahhaa
With all the crap going on with bloggers getting sued for freedom of speech or reporting the truth on blogs, the internets value as as venue for communication is diminishing. |

Hi Goldengal, welcome back. It's always a good idea to have an account on various systems simply for keeping an eye on the kids, especially on Facebook.
@ SciFiGuy - I think using Twitter and Facebook (I hate Myspace) is a good way of bringing people over to Yuku. |

I'm on Facebook as that's where my family members are on, but for me it's YUKU & even on Facebook I have my YUKU sites listed & noted that
that is where I truly hang my hat & where they need to find me.

I have a Facebook page for my Yuku board and I use it to post links to new topics on the board. This way anytime I hit "like" on one of the status
updates for the page, it shows up on the right sidebar for all my friends. And when my members become fans of the page, all their friends learn about my board.
So far no new members, but we are getting more lookers.

I also have a facebook page for Zan's Zone, but I didn't realise that clicking on "like" would bring up the link on the right side of the
page for friends.
I must do that for the links to my board that I put on my facebook page. Thanks for that bit of info Kathy. |

I like facebook, I use it for the games I do there. I also have a page for my family and that is a big thing as well. I didn't join to find friends from
the past, but to get re-acquainted with family and friends from here and other boards. It just depends what you like and do online. I think its just another
place to come and relax and take a break from life.
And honestly, sometimes if yuku is slow I will go on Facebook. I know I am sorry but sometimes its true. Its usually when there is a new feature updated or fixing it or just one of those things when you have such a popular place that everyone wants to go to. Sometimes it just sticks. |

I have an account there but don't use it much. I play the "aquarium" game that one of the former developers here made. But in general I find
facebook too plain. I also would want to skin mine. And even though I find the little "app" game cute...I hate all those "do you want to publish
this" popups and all the requests to join other apps. I also don't like that you cannot buy the ads away. And that the way you get points or coins or
presents etc...in most of those apps is to sign up for some crap I sure don't need, lol. As if I am ever going to put my handy number on any of those
things, eek!

Yeah, Facebook really isn't all that great -- especially as compared to Yuku. It's very plain, and your front page gets cluttered up by seeing all the uninteresting things your friends have been up to, such as the fact that they'd been making comments on people's profiles whom you don't even know or tried out some application. Who cares?!  I actually removed one person as my friend for the sole reason that he went around posting so many comments on other people's profiles, that when
I'd log in, my entire front page would be filled up with his pointless activities!
