Posts: 8 29-Oct-09 9:28 AM	Tags : None Must be close to Halloween. Some posts to http://expentecostalforums.yuku.com/ today have been acting weird. E.g., I posted a reply to a thread, but it didn't show up in the thread view, for a while. Refresh didn't help. But now it's there. Another member reported similar oddness.

I'm just going to be lazy here and paste the reply I gave to someone earlier this week, it also applies to you. As soon as you see a post disappear, click on security in your admin menu. Check the "check for post flooding" box at the bottom and click submit. On the resulting page, click go back to form and uncheck the post flood box and click submit again. Click go back to form again, then click on log&stats -> log to view your log. See if the actions you just performed show in the log. This will either confirm or deny a caching issue with the server which is important for us to know. You may want to practice those actions at any time, just so that you can get into the routine of doing them quickly when you see a post disappearing. btw that topic you linked to is so very sad

Posts: 8 2-Nov-09 6:32 AM	OK, a post disappeared just now and I followed the steps above, except that the box was already checked when I got there, so I unchecked it, went back to the form and checked it again, then checked the log. The actions were not in the log. The latest thing in the log is from yesterday. This time, the post the disappeared (it's still missing now) was in this thread: http://expentecostalforums.yuku.com/topic/8559

We need to catch this in the act, next time please do the same thing but you may want to send me a PM in addition to posting here. The fact that the actions disappeared from the log or didn't show right away confirms a caching issue on the server. I see that your actions are back now.

The activity did not register on my first time doing them but did the second time. This has been going on for a couple of days now and has gotten worse this morning. Ginny P.S. Posts: 8 3-Nov-09 7:47 AM	OK. Is it OK that the box is already checked? I turn it off, then back on, opposite of the order you gave in your post. I have noticed that the 'new post' indications by the threads are often out of sync: after viewing the thread, they're still flagging it as having new posts. Same caching problem, probably? Should I do the uncheck/check/logging thing for that, too?

ADMINISTRATOR Posts: 13731 3-Nov-09 8:00 AM Yuku Help	Ginny, you're on the same server as boustro, so you're desling with the same issue. boustro, yeah the new posts icons are also related to this issue. It doesn't matter whether the box is checked or not, and you could check/uncheck any box, actually. I suggested the post flood check because it's close to the submit button at the bottom and it is something nobody would ever notice if it were changed for a few seconds. Performing any admin action and checking the log will do. It is just a way of checking to see if you're dealing with a caching issue on the server or not. cbd12 should be back to normal today, sorry about that!
