http://dissociativeidentitydisorder.yuku.com/topic/6955 These are just examples - they are in the second skin that just for the topics (not in the default). We are kind of using it as a header. Thanks, Felicity |

Ok...this is what I see on the topic pages:
I don't see a chat/shoutbox there at all. Am I missing something? (don't say it, lol) |

Yes, because the board is MBA. That is all you get to see unless signed in. lol - that does look kind of funny - huh? Like maybe it just got up and walked
away. Do I have to do something for you to see it?

No, I should be seeing the same thing you do. I can see MBA boards with my work Id. So this is really odd. Can you make me a screen shot and PM it to me if
you'd rather not post it? Or, tell me the name of the skin you have it on and I can look in the code.

hmmm, I can give you the link. I just had to head over to general help to find out how to do a screen shot lol - Interesting I never knew how. Okay, well my
attempt at doing the screen shot failed. This is the skin New default - august 31 (forums -Zoetko)
(Active in 90 forums) - but I can't seem to find it on there. hmmm. I put it there, but I don't know how, exactly and I don't know why you can't see it. All the members can and I can. It is only on the back pages at the top - and on the side-bar on the front page - but the chat that goes on is the same. Hope that made some sense. Felicity |

Ok...still looking into this felicity. I just looked at your board in IE and I see the chat/shout box fine. But I cannot see it in Firefox 3.5.3. Has anyone
else complained on your board that they cannot see it? Gonna test in some more browsers
.

So far I only see the chatroom in IE7. It disappears in IE8 too.

Well.... I guess you should check out your computer maybe - because no one has complained, and I just took that picture while I was in Firefox.
A thought, I set it up in Safari, because I can't get my WYSISYG to work in FF - another problem I can't seem to solve. I have written here and gotten instructions - but still can't, so don't want to embarrass myself further. I wonder if me setting it up in Safari made some difference. But - nope - no one has complained about not seeing it, and they would. They love their shout box. Felicity |

No it should not matter that you set it up in Safari. Not sure what is blocking me in Firefox. I thought it was a setting there but it also happens in my old
Netscape which is Mozilla also and doesn't have all the extensions loaded. I will investigate some more
.

Lol...Felicity I need some new glasses. There was indeed a reason I did not see the shout/chatbox. Zoe was good enough to point me at it. This was in your CSS:
div.chatbox-holder { display: none; }Which hid the box from me in Firefox. IE7 saw it because it was ignoring the code for other reasons. Anyway, I removed it from your secondary skin (the 90 forums one). I think you had it in the original for the front page. So if the chatbox appears in forums you do not want it to now, let me know and we can add code for each forum separately. |

Yes. I needed the chat box in the back pages hidden from those who are not members. I put that code back in, but now it doesn't work - none members can see
the chat box in the back pages, but not the front. There is also code for it in the html, but I put that back and non-members can still see the chat box -
visitors - at least I see it when I log out - Can we put a boarder around it? And make it so only members can see it?
We tried viewing it with all the other browsers and could see it. hmmm. I don't know. Thanks, Felicity |

If the forum is mba or invisible then only the members of that forum should see the box. So, you mean logged out users are seeing the box in private forums? Or
they see it in the forums that are public and you don't want it there?
Just tell me where you want it to be seen and we can fix that. |

Okay,
It isn't a forum. It is a shout box at the top of the back pages - has nothing to do with a forum. It was only visible to members - after that code was put in. So, it did work - except seemingly not for you. Our members could see it. If I logged out, I couldn't see it. But it isn't a forum. I believe that I put it in an added box, but I can't remember or maybe I put it in the header, but it is just the shout box code - then zoe, I think, gave me the code to hide it to outside viewers. What I want: Shout box only visible to members I wanted to add a border around. That's all. Felicity |

Yes I know it is a shout box...but it does have something to do with a forum as that is where it displays. But the code is added to the one skin you use for 90
forums. So it will appear on all 90 unless we make a duplicate skin without the code and place that one the forums you don't want it visible. The code that
was hiding it would hide it to everyone.

I don't understand, because we could all see it. I asked everyone, and as long as they were logged in, they could see it.
Well, I guess just doesn't matter - they don't like their names out there - since the board is all over the place - on webring and elsewhere. I don't know what you mean - I know it has to do with forums - anyhow, I put that code back in and I can't get it to hide the one on the back pages, but it does hide the shout box on the front page, and I'll bet if I made that the default it would hide it on all the pages - well, I am rambling and probably wrong. It is the 'same' shout box - after all, right? It is okay - I'll have to ask and may have to just remove it from there and leave it on the sidebar only. They will be disappointed. Well, let me know what you think. I will look at it again tomorrow and try to figure out what I did. If it is hidden properly on the sidebar on the front, then should be able to do the same on the other pages. Seems to me anyhow. |

Ok...well if you add the code for the chatbox, it will appear in any forum the skin is applied to. When you open your board, the first page you see gets the
default skin and that one is separate. So you could add the hiding code there although..it would be easier to simply not add the chatbox on that skin.
Then if you add the chatbox to the header of your other skin (the 90 forums) and only want it to display on the "3rd" page (topic page) we can hide it on the forums pages with a code similar to what you had before. It would just need to be specific to the forum page. Is that what you would like? |

I am so sorry. Right now, the shout box is the least of my problems. I don't understand what is happening. I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone.
All of our font was weird - well weirder now. I can't see WYSIWYG in FF - haven't figured out why. So, I make changes there is I am for sure. So the header was all out of wack with a big space between the two - huge - I tried to change it how we had it before with all the font code and such. Somehow it got changed to h1 and h2 - well so h1, h2, h3, etc. were completely different size font on safari as on FF - in fact a bunch of the css was different. So, I changed it to be under "my header" and all of the rest of the font got huge in the wrong style. For no reason that I could find. Then, had to copy another code - from FF with the slide show to get it to work. But nope the whole board has this huge font - with EVERYTHING centered. So, long aggravating story. I ended up using the code for the header - and now everything is still centered, but not huge font. Even the announcement box is centered, and I can't change that. I
don't understand why every time I change a tiny little thing, the font gets all huge and everything gets centered again.

Felicity,
I think I know what is happening to you, the WYSIWYG editor is rather basic compared to what you can do in the raw CSS. What is happening is that everytime your using the WYSIWYG to make changes, it's getting confused by the code in use in your advanced css and basically trashes it and hence everything suddenly looks horrible. I have had this problem myself with a few skins on use at my board when my admins edit a skin using the WYSIWYG editor. I pretty much always make edits in the advanced css rather than using the WYSIWYG editor. I know thats not really an option for you, but I thought you should know why you keep on getting wild results when you try and edit the smallest thing. Zoe |
