"ez" indicates an account that was migrated from ezboard, "y" indicates an account that was created at yuku. |

Why is it necessary? I really don't need to know if an account was migrated from Ezboard or started on Yuku.

And I don't see why people have to know it about me, either. Can we opt out?

Check my "The May
11th Push - feedback" thread in the Report a Bug section, CT. Like CT, I don't see the point of it either. I don't think there should be an
opt out on it. It just should not be there at all!

This is to open up more names. In ezboard there are prime names that are taken globally and have barely been used. This opens up those names.
Now if someone at a yuku board wants to be Kathy, they can be Kathy.apevine or Kathy.bobsboard. Or if you've been stuck with the name you wanted with numbers added, you can have the name without the numbers. The V is for those who create a profile at the www.yuku.com home page. |

There is also an L for local
But it only shows as L at the board where it was registered. On another board it is the same V (or is that a W?) |

Kathy wrote: No disrepect to you Kathy, but if people want to be Kathy, they may not want to be Kathy.apevine or Kathy.bobsboard. I want to be Flukey and have absolutely
nothing after that, even when I am typing a post and it is not going to be seen after it is posted. If they want to open up names then simply allow longer
usernames or let people literally type ".bobsboard" or whatever after their name themselves if they want to, without us all suddenly have an
"@ez" or whatever after our name, not knowing where it came from. Allow the option by all means, and let us know it is there, but don't change
anything for us. We can then add the extra part if we want it. You can get the option you want, without it having any affect on anyone that doesn't want
that. What's happening is that in order to facilitate an additional option, we all have to be changed in some way or another.
It is ok being given more things, but they should not be foisted upon us, so that even those who didn't want them are stuck with them. Let us decide,
instead of us being thrown into categories of "V" or "EZ" or "Y" or whatever, after a push. Before this push, I had
"Post as: Flukey", as I typed a post, and a yellow dot beside my name after the post went up. That was fine.
I liked it that way. Now all of a sudden I have "Post as: Flukey@ez", as I type a post, and EZ in a box
beside my name after my post goes up, none of which I asked for or was told about so I could give an opinion, before it happened. It just suddenly arrived. It
seems I am stuck with it now.
Sometimes a "push" seems to push away something that was fine and replace it with something like this, and hence we get all these threads asking
what it is all about. As I said in the other thread I posted, why not ask us about these things first or tell us the ideas, before putting any work into
actually developing them? Then we can say yay or nay and save everyone time and energy, and we'll also know exactly what to expect in the next push,
instead of suddenly seeing something and wondering what is it and why is it there? Additional features and options can be added, without changing anything that
exists, and allow us to make the decision to use them. So then you can be "Kathy.bobsboard" if you want, and I can still be "Flukey"
instead of seeing "Flukey@ez" all of a sudden. Giving you or anyone an extra option, doesn't have to affect those that don't want it. If
someone wants to show "V" or "EZ" or "Y" etc. beside their username, or put in their ".bobsboard" with it, then fine,
let them have that. Leave the rest of us with the setting that was already there, instead of replacing it though.
Simply put: Give us new options in addition to, not instead of, what was already there, and tell us about them and ask opinions so we can say what we think
and know exactly what to expect after a push.

Imported local account were showing up as kathy--reallylongboardname and admins hated it and users hated it. And there are boards that hated the fact that
their members couldn't create new "local" names here at yuku, especially the role play boards.
Now that being said, I really liked being kathy.u and showing up everywhere as kathy. Now I show up in our chat room as kathy.ez or kathy.apevine |

I think that the main problem with this is that people are seeing their own accounts change, whereas I think it should have only applied to new accounts.
You have the choice - you can either sign up at a board, or sign up from the main page. What I think we need to ensure is that this is CLEAR. If anyone has been changed from u to ez, and didn't want to, please put a ticket in, and I will see if there is anything I can do to revert you back. I am making no promises on my ability to do this, but if I have a list of names affected, then if I can get something done then I can apply it to those affected. |

I really don't understrand the point since lots of the U and Ez are wrong anyway.

Some of us have signed up long ago, neither at a board or on the main page, so no choice is presented to us. Anyway, why can't we sign up wherever we want and have nothing after our name, as was the case before the push and this pointless addition? We apparently don't have that choice, to be just ordinary, non-categorised users. |

I never signed up at Yuku, still I am Y. But that is ok ..whatever...lol. I signed up more than 6 years ago, long before Yuku.
