Hi folks. I'm new here, but not to Ezboard. I've been running a forum (PaleoPlanet) on Ezboard for a number of years. We just paid our Gold Community
for the next year (it was about $1,200 for the year). We're really active and growing daily, and we hope to grow further.
I'm becoming more and more interested in Yuku, and am seriously contemplating moving PaleoPlanet over to Yuku once the bugs are worked out of the migration process. But frankly, I'm a bit fearful too. I'm not a computer person, and don't understand much of the lingo that's kicked around these owner/administrator discussion areas. Lucky for me, I have some trusted administrators who are somewhat attuned to this sort of thing.
Can anyone tell me about the process of migrating from Ezboard to Yuku? Will information will be lost in the process?
Also, is there down time for the forum while the files and information is moved over? Or are the Ezboard forums just copied behind the scenes and moved over while the Ezboard continues to operate in a normal fashion? Do memberships move automatically, or do members have to join Yuku first?
Sorry so many questions...
Thanks in advance if you can help me understand this stuff a little better.
Tom
