Yuku free message boards

In calculating the price, a distinction is made between small boards and large boards.
A small board is a board that generates less than 50,000 page views per month.
A large board is a board that generates more than 50,000 page views per month.

Small boards (less than 50,000 page views per month)

1 month: $6
3 months: $18
6 months: $30 (17% cheaper)
12 months: $54 (25% cheaper)

Small boards show NO ads to ALL visitors.

Large boards (more than 50,000 page views per month)

cost: $0.20 per 1,000 pages viewed with ads served.
If your page view is 60,000 per month, this does NOT mean that you pay for 60,000 views because not all pages in your community have ads. Community contributions are only applied to the pages that serve ads.

Directory (the main page of your community) does not have ads. Anyone who views the main page, this view is not counted in the views you pay for.
Forum pages do not have ads
Search pages do not have ads
Login pages do not have ads
New topic pages do not have ads
View kudos pages do not have ads
Peripheral pages (calendar, community profile, etc..) do not have ads
Yuku supporter views are not being counted.

In other words, you only pay for the thread pages that are viewed by non-yuku supporter (unless you specify otherwise, see next)

You can determine who will see ads on your board.

By determining who sees ads on your board, you also determine how much you will pay.
Click on "ads settings" in your admin menu.

Exceptions by groups:
Check the groups to whom you wish to offer an ad free viewing experience.
Say, you don't want to have to pay for lurkers viewing your board. No problem. UNcheck "logged out users and logged in non members. All members of your board will have an ad free experience but anyone who has not posted on your board before will see ads in the threads. Logically, you do not have to pay for those views because they will see ads.
You are now paying to offer your members, moderators and administrators and ad free experience, but you are only paying for the views by members, moderators and administrators who do not have yuku supporter.

Exceptions by status.
This one is clear. Determine who will have ad free viewing based on kudos, membership duration and/or post count.

Member exceptions:
Add members to this list to whom you wish to offer an ad free browsing experience even though they do not comply with the exceptions by group or status.
*Note: Only members added manually will appear on that list. Meaning: if you have members with a post count of 5,000 + set in the exceptions by status sections, you can view those members by clicking on "view members" in the exceptions by status section, but they will not appear on your member exceptions list. It doesn't mean that they will see ads though.

Where to check your ad views.

Click on "stats" in your admin menu.
Use the dropdown menu to select "daily ads views"
Use the next dropdown menu and select "last 1 month"
Click submit.

To calculate your cost, look at the "no ads/opted" average.
Since the ads have only now been rolled out, you will not see an accurate average there until a month from now, so please wait a month to delve deeper into that section.

Frequently asked questions

My board is ad free, but one of my admins sees ads, what's going on?

Click on ads settings in your admin menu.
Look at "exceptions by group"
If "administrators" is UNchecked, it means that you are not offering ad free viewing to your administrators, so if your administrator does not have yuku supporter, (s)he will see ads.

My board has 100,000 views per month, I don't think my money is going to last too long.
Read all of the above, not every view is counted. The page view system is more economical to you then "days" would be.

This is not fair. I paid on ezboard for 365 days, I had 200 days left, my board migrated and now you're replacing my days with page views? This was not the deal I signed up for.
The deal has not changed. The remaining days from ezboard will be applied as days, not page views.
Contributions made after the board was imported will be applied as page views.

How do I apply the funds when someone contributes to my community?
There is no need to do this. Contributions get applied automatically.
