board owners do not get free yuku supporter directly from their board. Instead, they get ad-free viewing for their own board. And for every $5 that ANY member
contributes to a board, that member gets $1 of yuku supporter (1 month).

I'm totally confused about what you're saying. Do you mean to say that the price of gold doesn't automatically give yuku supporter, like on
ezboard? You mean to say that I will have to pay an additional fee for my yuku supporter??? Tell me that I misunderstood you!

If you want yuku supporter, and you are not the person who pays for your own board, then you need to pay for it separately.

Im the owner of my board, and I just paid for a year, which expires April 30, 2009, but my supporter ends Feb 14 of 09. Why is that? Im way confused now

So what you're saying is that you're giving contributors a break on their Yuku Supporter fees and Admins are now being treated like regular members.
It's not enough that we have to run a ten-times-harder back stage area (while regular members pretty much just do what they did on ezB with a few extra bells and whistles) and learn CSS at an almost IT level thanks to this transformation, we now don't get the perk of "free" Supporter to ensure we remain Supporter'd Admins. Why bother being an Admin? Oh wait, the sweet, sweet joy of holding our Luddite-prone members' hands through migrations and other lovely issues that come with being the Admin of a message board. Yay us. I thought getting Supporter outta this was to encourage us to want to stay with your company. Hmmm.... |

Why bother being an admin? Being the owner of board is a serious committment if you want a successful community. People don't become admins just because
they want the free supporter status if other people pay to keep their board ad free.
Admins see no ads on their own boards. That is their perk. Anyone who donates money to a board - admin, mod, or member - will benefit from their generosity by having their yuku supporter topped up. It doesn't matter how much you donate as long as it's more than $5. For every $5 you donate, you get 1 more month of Yuku supporter. This is much Fairer on the people who actually fund the communities. The rewards from being a good admin is that you have a thriving community. |

And that is regardless of what the Gold status of the board is on the board. You won't see ads on a board that you own. You won't use your ad-free page views up either, if it's a gold community. And then, for boards I don't run but visit, if I contribute $5 I'll get a month free even though I'm Admin elsewhere?yes, if you contribute $5 to ANY board, you'll get 1 month of yuku supporter added to your account. I have four boards and I'm wondering if my Supporter runs out because I don't get extended out anymore, but all my boards are still Gold, then I won't see ads on THOSE boards? If your board is gold, you won't see ads on your boards that are gold, if you were to let supporter run out. Owner only, though, not other admins, from what I was told (Alison, correct me if I'm wrong?). And then, for boards I don't run but visit, if I contribute $5 I'll get a month free even though I'm Admin elsewhere?For every $5 you donate to your board or others, you get $1 worth of supporter (ie, 1 month). |

Right Bethgael, except that I don't think it matters whether your board is gold or not. You shouldn't see ads if you're the owner. But I'll
double check.

I like this actually. I'm tried of subsidising the owners and admins of my board. Why should my dollars go to them? I'm happy to pay to keep the board ad free but what exactly makes you think your users want to pay for free supporter for you? The only crappy deal is for you. |

and yet if you were running a board that cost you 60 bux per year on ezboard, with free supporter everywhere you went, the same will cost your 72 bux per year
now... thats a what... 20% increase? thats one hell of an increase for the same product
