Yuku Image Galleries Stuck |
Lead | ||
|
Is it just my account or is anyone else experiencing this? When I open a folder within my image galleries, including the Yuku emoticons for comments, the
images are stuck. The forward and backward arrows will not advance or reverse so that I can select images that aren't shown when I first open any of my
folders.

In both the reply and new topic windows, Alison, and the images (including emotes) stick more often than not in both FF 2 and IE 7 browsers. My O/S is WinXP
Pro. I use FF more than I do IE, but check my board often with IE since so many of my board members use IE.

have you done a restart or cleared your cache since you noticed this happening?
btw, LOVE your current avatar! |

Thank you! Thought he would be great to use for St. Paddy's.
Oh yes, I've cleared the cache, restarted, cold booted - done everything but smack the puter around to no avail. What's so dang strange is, the "stuckiness"
isn't consistent, but it is getting to become mighty tiresome to end up having to open a separate window to access a gallery, then snag an
image's location and type in HTML format just to post an image or emote.

When you are running it, do you have a lot of other programs running too? Do you think your RAM is maxed out?

I have quite a bit of RAM on my home pc (work is another matter, so I know my limitations there). But no, usually I just have FF and IE with my email open at
home. Rarely do I ever have anything else open while accessing boards or profiles from home.

Do you have "Animated" graphics in your Galleries???
I posted a bug a long time ago citing the fact that ALL Slideshows hang up and won't go past an animated graphic...(is it just ME) Don't know if that is what you are dealing with??? |

Yes, most are animated. I'm also experiencing the same problem with emoticons within the profile editor.
Thanks, templework!

ah, good detective work Templework, thanks for that detail
I'll ask the developers about that.
Is the animated image recently uploaded, or from a long time ago? |

Both, Alison. They stick even in the recently created albums. Also, the emoticons stick in the profile editor, my board's reply editor, and the PM editor.

This should now be fixed, can anyone confirm this? It works for my animated slideshows.

It now works now, Alison, (and mega thanks!
) UNLESS a person has an animated gif for a background. If a person has one on their profile, then all the tools
in the editors barely move. Those animated backgrounds are a turn-off for many people including self, but it's their profile to do as they wish. Usually I
move on without attempting to leave kudos or comments because I know the editors won't function the way they should unless the background is a jpg or a
non-animated gif.
Again, thanks for the fix.

oh, I hate animated backgrounds, they often grind a page to a halt no matter where the page is. Thanks for confirming the slideshow. I'll let them know
that animated backgrounds can cause the problem with the editor, but I don't know if that is something that can be fixed.
