Profiles Overview

Your profile represents who you are on the message boards you post on. Because each account has up to five profiles you can represent each of your personas separately.

Each profile has its own profile page. Profile pages are a great place to show other members who you are and what you like.

The profile page is made up of a mini profile customized with information about you, and profile blocks that include comments from others, photos and videos, and more. You choose which blocks are shown on your profile page, apart from the mini profile which cannot be turned off. You can edit what information is showin in your mini profile block however.

Global vs Local

Profiles come in two flavours. Global and local. All profiles are - in essense - global, as they can acccess ALL boards in our system and post or participate as appropriate. The only difference is that a local account will have a board name appended to it.

This is a global username: pink.u This is a local usernaem: pink.ezdesign

On the community at which pink.ezdesign was created, the username would show up as just pink. On all other communities, it would be seen as pink@ezdesign.

Editing your profile page

You can edit the layout of the blocks, which blocks show, who sees each block and the contents of each block.

To edit the layout of the blocks, and choose which blocks are on or off, please read the Editing profile page layout FAQ.

To edit the information in each block, you need to view your profile, then use the edit link on each block. Read more about that in the Editing profile information FAQ.
