NOT getting notification of Private Messages |
Lead | ||
|
Well...it's self explanatory...I am not getting notification of my new private messages. Another person, I know, is ALSO not getting notified.

in terms of the inbox number in your nav bar, or the email?

I was going to add this to the other thread I said this in, but I couldn't find it, so I'll add it here.
Like I said in the other thread, sometimes it gets to where my inbox count says zero, even though I see/receive all other notifications of a message and I, in fact, have a message. It happens on and off. At the time of this posting, it just happened to me. |

Is it possible that you are looking at a cached page?

I really don't know (which is very embarrassing, for as long as I've been studying the internet and web design). How would I know?

If you want to know whether you are looking at a page from your cache, do a hard refresh to reload. A quick refresh doesn't get rid of the cache but a hard
refresh does. This will give you the updated version of a page.
It could be cached by the server though. For example, the support board is on a different server than most boards. Sometimes when I have a message, it will show 1 message up top when I'm on any given board, but when I go come to support, it won't show. You could experiment and go to a different board, then go to support and see if it makes a difference in the notification. |

And which of those do you get if you just use the reload or refresh button on your browser?
