Tags in topics

Tags are keywords that can be added to leads (first post in a topic). They will come up in a yuku domain search as well as any other search such as google. Using tags will make it easier for a board to be found, but it will also help board members to find old posts easily.
A forum must have at least 5 tags in order for them to appear in the tags section.

Adding tags to your topics.

To add a tag when you start a new topic, simply add your tags in the designated area just below the post editor.



Editing tags

If you need to add tags to a previous topic or update the tags as the topic progresses, click on the Edit link next to the word Tags



When you are finished, click Save



Your tags will appear in the search tags area above the forum in which you posted.



You can now click on the tags to find your post easily, or find posts that might be of interest to you.

When a tag is used more than once, the font size increases. In the above example, "cars" was used 3 times, "flowers" was used twice.

Disabling tags.

If you don't wish to use tags on your board, you can disable them.

Path to follow: Navigation -> admin menu -> community skins.
On your community skins page, click on the WYSIWYG tab in the forum where you wish to disable tags.
Click on 'features'
Scroll down to the second section (forum page) and check the 'hide' radio button next to tags.
Click 'save' to save the changes.

Managing tags

If you have members who use inappropriate tags, you can easily remove the tags from all topics in a forum at one time.

If you are in an admin profile you will see a manage tags button in the lower right of the tag box.



Clicking on that button will pull up a page with all of the tags for that forum.

Check the box(es) by the tags that you want to delete and hit submit.

Making your tags uniform in size.

If you prefer a clean look, rather than having your frequently used tags stand out as their font size increases, add the following to the bottom of your css file.

.three {font-size: 1em;}
.four {font-size: 1em;}
.five {font-size: 1em;}

You can increase or decrease the font size, depending on how large or small you wish your tags to be.

You and your members can hide the tags box in a forum and then open it back up when you need to do a tag search. This is especially helpful in forums with a large number of tags.

To hide the box, look for the [-] in the upper right side of the search tags box.

To show the box, look for the [+] in the same place.
