What kind of connection does your blackberry have? Can it be intermittent?

It's through the AT&T network. It's not wi-fi or anything like that.

It's not really something that i can test, how often is it happening?

A fair amount. It usually happens when I go from one Yuku page to another Yuku page; I get to the new page, but I'm no longer logged in.

How do you actually connect? It's via the mobile phone system right?
My husband has a blackberry, so I will try and test with my account on it tonight. I am wondering if the signal is getting interupted because of the vagaries of mobile computing. We have a terrible signal where we live, it's either full strength or nothing. When it happens, can you see what your signal strength is? |

I've got similar problems with my mobile phone. In fact it pretty much logs me out every single time I change the page, and not just sometimes.

I haven't paid attention to the signal strength when it happens, to be honest. But I'll be sure to from now on, and I'll report back here with my
findings

I'm back Alison!
From what I've seen, it happens when the signal strength on the device is anywhere from average to good. |

it really sounds like it's something related to the signal strength, perhaps it fragments the data flow, and an incomplete stream would trigger failure to
be logged in.

So it's something on Blackberry's/AT&T's end that has to be fixed?

Being a mobile device, it's pretty hard to achieve a high quality signal at all times, but under normal circumstances it wouldn't make much difference.
I've asked the technical guys for an opinion. I have to admit that it's not a huge priority problem at this point in time.

Oh I understand that completely. You guys get the latest push going, and I'll personally pay for your flight to MS where you can grab my blackberry and
shove it down my throat, if you want

Well, I hate to throw a monkey wrench into this, but I have been using a mobile device (a Sidekick with T-Mobile) for years, on both ezboard and now here at Yuku, and while the signal strength varies from very strong to non-existent, I never have the problem of getting logged out. The only thing that happens is that the page won't load if I don't have a strong enough signal. There is one major difference, though, between a Blackberry and Sidekick, which might be a factor: With the Blackberry, the cookies are stored on the device, while with the Sidekick, the cookies are stored online in some manner by the ISP carrier. |

You and your monkey wrench
I had felt reassured about the answer
Alison gave, but now I'm just going to be sick

Hi, I am a new Yuku user. We just transferred a group from MSN to Yuku this week and so far we love it. The only problem is that many of our members are having
trouble with their Blackberries, me included. I am having the problem that I have to re-login every time I go to a new page and it is really a pain!
I have also had trouble with my Blackberry freezing up when trying to access Yuku. Does anyone have any tips? Thank! |

Hello Heidi,
Unfortunately I don't knwo much about blackberries, but I will ask around to see if anyone can come up with a solution, it might be something simple. |

The timing out has been happening less, but every time I go to a different forum, I have to re-login and it drives me nuts! I never have to log in on my
desktop or laptop, but always on my blackberry. Very frustrating.

Not sure if this is a bug, and I guess it really doesn't matter, since it seems to still post fine, but every time I make a post in this forum on my
BlackBerry (which I'm doing now), it blinks blue across where I'm writing with every character I type. Not sure if it happens on any other forum on
this board, or a different board entirely.
