Tracking new thread counts for members - is this possible? How?

Posts: 7 21-Aug-08 6:51 PM	Hi all - I would like to do an initiative on my board to encourage people to start new threads. What I want to do is challenge people to see how many new threads they can start in a week and whoever creates the most will win a prize. My problem is, I'm not sure as an Administrator how I would track new thread counts by member. I was wondering if anyone could think of a solution to this (or if I'm missing something obvious, which is completely possible). I appreciate any and all suggestions.

I would suggest you try to get them to tell you how many new topics they have started and that will cut the work down for you. You can then find one of their posts and, "Interact" or "more" under their poster details and then select "My Recent Posts". They will come up in reverse date order with new topics first. You can then count them back to whatever date it is. My page is set to 20 posts and I could count page numbers (if you are lucky enough to get that many).

Posts: 1 1-Sep-08 10:02 PM	I do this on my board also and give the winner a small gift . I do it by making a " check in " or "sign up" post in my general chat area, then I have my members make a reply to my original post, that will show their post count for my board, I usually do it for maybe 24 hrs using a starting and closing time, once my contest is over they come back to the original post and sign out . then I just figure up how many new post or new threads they do within that time limit. I also don't let them use just smilies or 1 word post because someone will always flood the board with little smilies waving or grinning just to up their count , they must make at least a 10 word post or thread for it to count .
